Chewy Date Torte - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 eggs
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. milk
2 Tbsp. margarine, melted
1 tsp. vanilla
1 (8 oz.) pkg. pitted dates, chopped
1 c. pecans or walnuts, chopped
whipped cream
Preparation

In a mixing bowl, beat eggs.
Gradually add sugar, beating until thoroughly blended.
Combine flour, baking powder and salt and stir into mixing bowl.
Add milk, margarine and vanilla, stirring until blended.
Stir in dates and nuts.
Pour into a greased 9-inch square pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes or until it tests done.
Cool.
Cut into squares and top with whipped cream.
Yields 9 servings.
