Potato Pancakes (Latkes) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 egg
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 medium onion, grated
    1 to 2 Tbsp. bread crumbs
    2 1/2 c. raw potatoes, grated
Preparation
    Grate potatoes and onions in Cuisinart or with a hand grater. Add remaining ingredients.
    Blend well.
    Heat cooking oil in large skillet.
    Drop mixture by spoonfuls onto skillet and cook until golden brown, approximately 4 minutes per side.
    Serve with sour cream or applesauce.
    Makes 12 latkes.
