Dutch Red Cabbage - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 to 2 lb. head red cabbage
2 to 3 tart apples, peeled and sliced
2 to 4 Tbsp. butter
1/4 c. white or brown sugar
1/4 c. vinegar
1/4 tsp. each: allspice, cinnamon and ground cloves
Preparation

Discard core and outer leaves of cabbage and cut rest of cabbage into small pieces.
Add apples and cook mixture in boiling salted water until tender, about 30 to 35 minutes.
Drain; add butter, sugar, vinegar and spices.
Serves 4 to 6.
