Caramel Frosting - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. brown sugar
    1 c. water
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1 tsp. vanilla
    cream (to soften)
Preparation
    Boil sugar and water until syrup reaches the soft ball stage when dropped in cold water.
    Add the butter and vanilla.
    Remove from heat.
    Let cool, then beat until thick and creamy.
    Add cream until it spreads easy.
    Enough frosting for 2 (9-inch) cakes.
