Cornbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 c. sugar (optional)
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. yellow corn meal
1 c. sifted flour
1 c. milk
1/4 c. safflower oil
1 egg (we use Egg Beaters)
Preparation

Sift together baking powder, baking soda, sugar, salt, corn meal and flour, then add egg, milk and oil and beat by hand until smooth.
Bake in an 8-inch square pan or muffin pans in a preheated 425\u00b0 oven for 20 to 25 minutes.
Makes 14 corn sticks. Pour cornbread batter into hot, well-greased corn stick pans. Bake at 425\u00b0 for 15 to 20 minutes.
