Maple-Pecan Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. complete pancake and waffle mix (only needs water)
    1 tsp. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3/4 c. water
    1/2 c. pecans
    1/2 c. maple syrup
Preparation
    Combine first 5 ingredients and pour into medium skillet. Tightly cover skillet and set over medium (not hot) heat for 10 minutes.
    When top surface of cake is firm, loosen edges and turn out onto serving plate.
    Arrange pecan halves on top.
    Pour 1/4 cup maple syrup over cake.
    Pour on rest of syrup before serving. Serve with Cool Whip on top.
