Apple-Oatmeal Crunch - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4-5 medium tart cooking apples, cored, peeled and thinly sliced
6 Tbsp. firmly packed brown sugar
6 Tbsp. granulated sugar
1/2 c. unsifted flour
3/4 c. uncooked quick-cooking oats
1/2 tsp. cinnamon, optional
1/4 tsp. nutmeg, optional
1/2 c. (1 stick) butter, melted
1/2 c. water
Ice Cream or Whipped Cream, if desired

Preheat oven to 375\u00b0. Spread the sliced apples over the bottom of a greased 8 x 8 x 2 inch baking dish. In a mixing bowl, combine the brown and granulated sugars, flour and oats (may add 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon and 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg), then stir in the melted butter. Spread mixture over the apples. Pour the water evenly over the top. Bake, uncovered, about 30 minutes until the apples are tender. Serve warm or at room temperature with whipped cream or ice cream, if desired.
