Chili Potato Casserole - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 pkg. Betty Crocker smokey Cheddar or scalloped potatoes
1 lb. ground beef
1 c. chopped green pepper
1/4 c. chopped onion
1 tsp. salt
2 to 2 1/2 tsp. chili powder
2 1/2 c. water
1 (15 1/2 oz.) can kidney beans, undrained
Preparation

Heat oven to 400\u00b0.
Empty potatoes into ungreased 2-quart casserole.
Cook and stir ground beef, green pepper, onion and salt in 10-inch skillet until beef is brown.
Drain.
Stir in sauce mix, chili powder, water and beans.
Stir into potatoes. Cover and bake until potatoes are tender, about 40 minutes. Sprinkle with shredded Cheddar cheese, if desired.
Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
Yields 4 to 6 servings.
