French Toast - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 eggs
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1 loaf day-old Italian bread
    maple syrup
    3 Tbsp. sugar
    1 (13 oz.) can evaporated milk
    butter or margarine
Preparation
    Beat eggs, sugar and nutmeg with a fork until thoroughly blended.
    Add evaporated milk and blend again.
    Slice bread approximately 3/4-inch thick and soak (submerge) each slice for about a minute.
    Fry in butter or margarine at medium heat, taking care not to burn it.
    Serve with butter or margarine and maple syrup.
    Serves 4.
