Chili Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    12 large tomatoes, peeled and chopped
    2 medium onions, chopped fine
    3 green peppers, chopped fine
    2 Tbsp. salt
    2 c. vinegar
    1 Tbsp. dry mustard
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 c. sugar
    1 peeled and chopped apple
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients.
    Cook the sauce until it is thick (it takes about 2 hours).
    Pour hot sauce into scalded jars.
    Do not cover while cooking.
    Makes 5 pints.
    Freezes well.
