Peach Preserves - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. sliced peaches (4 c.)
    juice of 1/2 lemon or 3 Tbsp. lemon juice
    1 Tbsp. butter
    4 c. sugar
Preparation
    Combine peaches, lemon juice, butter and 2 cups sugar.
    Boil for 10 minutes.
    Add 2 more cups of sugar and boil for 10 minutes more.
    Remove from heat; put into large bowl.
    Let stand overnight.
    Seal in jars next day.
    Keep in refrigerator.
