Prize Orange Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter
    2 eggs, separated
    1/2 c. sour milk
    2 c. \"Five Roses\" all-purpose flour
    1/2 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in 1 tsp. hot water
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
    1 c. granulated sugar
    1/2 c. seedless raisins
    1 fairly large orange
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Squeeze orange and add juice to milk.
    Put remainder of orange plus the raisins through a food grinder.
    Mix other ingredients except egg whites as for a \"butter cake\".
    Add minced fruit and chopped nuts.
    Lastly, add stiffly beaten egg whites.
    Bake in prepared 9 x 13-inch pans at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes or until it passes the toothpick test.
