Barbecued Spareribs - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 lb. spareribs, cut in 2-inch wide pieces
    2 onions, sliced
    salt and pepper
Preparation
    Parboil ribs slightly, then drain off all water and braise in oven for about 1 hour, having added salt and pepper.
    Do not add water to roaster pan.
    When about half done, brown sliced onion and add to ribs.
    Stir ribs now and then to brown evenly.
