Mile High Biscuits - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 c. flour
2 Tbsp. sugar
1 Tbsp. plus 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. cream of tartar
3/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. shortening
1 egg
3/4 c. milk
Preparation

Combine all dry ingredients; mix well.
Cut in shortening. Combine milk and egg.
Add to flour; stir until dry ingredients are moist.
Turn dough onto floured surface and knead 8 to 10 times.
Roll dough to 1-inch thickness.
Cut and bake at 450\u00b0 for 15 minutes.
Yields 15 biscuits.
