Indian Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. corn meal
    2 c. hot milk
    1/8 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. ginger
    1/4 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/3 c. molasses
    1 c. cold milk
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    2 eggs
    2 Tbsp. oil
Preparation
    Gradually add corn meal to hot milk.
    Cook, stirring constantly, until smooth and slightly thickened.
    Add molasses. Beat eggs.
    Add sugar, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and salt, then add cold milk and mix well.
    Pour into 1 1/2-quart greased pudding dish.
    Bake in slow oven at 275\u00b0 to 300\u00b0 for 2 hours.
    Serve hot with whipped cream or ice cream.
