Italian Cream Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. chopped pecans
    1 small can coconut
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. buttermilk
    5 egg whites, stiffly beaten
    5 egg yolks
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 stick oleo
    2 c. sugar
Preparation
    Cream oleo and shortening.
    Add sugar and egg yolks.
    Sift flour and soda together.
    Fold in egg whites.
    Bake in 3 or 4 (9-inch) prepared layer cake pans.
    Bake 25 to 30 minutes at 350\u00b0.
