Maple Walnut Cream Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 baked (9-inch) single crust
    1 1/4 c. pure maple syrup
    1/2 c. milk
    3 eggs, separated
    1 envelope (1 Tbsp.) unflavored gelatin
    1/4 c. warm water
    1 tsp. maple extract or flavor
    1 c. whipped cream
    3/4 c. finely chopped walnuts
Preparation
    Combine maple syrup
    and
    milk
    in
    saucepan.
    Beat egg yolks; add to saucepan.
    Cook
    and
    stir
    2 minutes on medium heat. Dissolve gelatin
    in water.
    Remove saucepan from heat. Stir in dissolved
    gelatin
    and maple extract.
    Refrigerate 30 to 45 minutes or until mixture begins to thicken.
