Shoyu Chicken--Hawaiian Style - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 Tbsp. water
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. water
    1/2 c. dark soy sauce
    1/4 c. pineapple juice
    2 to 3 lb. chicken wings, cut at the joints, tips discarded
    2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
    1 tsp. grated fresh ginger
    1/2 tsp. garlic powder
Preparation
    Combine sugar, water, soy sauce, pineapple juice, oil, ginger and garlic powder.
    Stir until sugar is dissolved.
    Pour over chicken wings in bowl small enough so that all are covered.
    Cover and refrigerate.
    Marinate at least one full day (two is preferable), stirring occasionally.
