Pawley'S Island Ratatouille - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. olive oil
    1 large onion, sliced
    2 garlic cloves, chopped
    1 tsp. basil
    2 green peppers, thinly sliced
    1 large eggplant, peeled and diced
    1 tsp. pepper
    4 zucchini, sliced
    8 to 10 very ripe tomatoes or 2 c. canned
    5 to 6 whole cloves
    2 heaping Tbsp. brown sugar
Preparation
    Saute onion and garlic in oil.
    Add all the remaining ingredients, putting tomatoes in last.
    Bring to a boil, then simmer 10 to 15 minutes, allowing to cook down.
