Cracker Jacks - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. or 2 sticks margarine
    1 c. brown sugar
    1/2 c. Karo syrup (light or dark)
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. soda
    peanuts
Preparation
    Mix all ingredients in pan except vanilla and soda.
    Boil and stir constantly until thick.
    Let set 5 minutes without stirring. Add vanilla and stir well.
    Stir in soda.
    Pop popcorn (6 quarts). Pour mixture into popcorn.
    Add peanuts; stir.
    Bake for 1 hour at 250\u00b0 in large pan.
