Toffee Brickle - cooking recipe
Ingredients

40 to 45 saltine crackers
1/2 lb. (2 sticks) butter or margarine
3/4 tsp 1 c. packed brown sugar
1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
1/2 to 1 c. finely chopped almonds (optional)
Preparation

Line
a
jellyroll
or
large,
sided cookie sheet with foil. Cover
the
bottom
of the pan with the saltines.
In a small saucepan,
melt butter with brown sugar, blending well. Bring the mixture
to a boil, stirring often.
Pour the sugar mixture evenly over the crackers.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 5 minutes or so,
until
the toffee evens out.
Remove from the oven and sprinkle the chocolate
chips over top of the toffee.
As the chips melt, smooth the chocolate evenly over the toffee.
