Chicken Pot Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stewing or cut-up chicken
    1 medium onion
    salt and pepper to taste
    2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 to 1/8 stick butter
    1 egg
    1/2 c. milk
    4 medium potatoes
    1 Tbsp. chopped parsley
Preparation
    Cover chicken with water and add salt, pepper and onion. Simmer until chicken is tender.
    Remove chicken from broth.
    Crumb the flour, salt and butter.
    Mix egg and milk and add gradually to flour mixture until it forms a soft but not sticky dough.
    Finish mixing with hands.
    Place dough on floured board.
    Roll out to 1/16-inch thickness or thicker, if desired.
    Cut into 2 inch squares.
    Bring broth to a boil and add parsley and potatoes cut into squares.
    Add the dough squares gradually and stir often. Keep broth boiling while adding dough to avoid sticking together. Add salt and pepper to taste.
    Cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
    If there is room in the pot, you can add the chicken or heat it separately.
    Makes 4 to 6 servings.
