Jims Biscuits - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking soda
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1 c. melted shortening (don't use oil)
    4 c. plain sifted flour
    1 pkg. dry yeast
    2 c. buttermilk
Preparation
    Mix all dry ingredients well.
    Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup lukewarm water.
    Add shortening, yeast and buttermilk to dry mix and knead well.
    Flour as needed to roll out.
    Roll out, cut and place biscuits in a greased pan.
    Bake in a 425\u00b0 preheated oven until brown (12 to 15 minutes).
    Mix makes about 24 large biscuits.
