Blue Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 slices salt pork
    1 qt. speckled butter beans
    1 qt. field peas
    1 pt. whole kernel corn
    5 qt. water
    1/2 c. corn meal
    salt to taste
Preparation
    Parboil and fry salt pork in heavy skillet.
    Put in large pot with beans, peas, corn and water.
    Bring to boil; lower heat to medium and boil 3 hours, adding more water as needed.
    Mix corn meal and salt with enough water to make it soupy.
    Add to pot and bring to boil.
    Lower heat and simmer 20 minutes longer.
    Yield: 8 servings.
