Frosted Apple Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 1/2 cup flour
1 Tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1 cup shortening
1 egg + milk to make 1/3 cup
1 egg white, slightly beaten

Preparation

Preheat oven to 400\u00b0.
Mix all pastry ingredients together.
Turn half of dough onto floured surface.
Roll into a 10 x 12 rectangle. Place on greased cookie sheet.
Add filling.
Roll out remaining dough and place over filling.
Fold edges together and crimp with fork.
Brush with beaten egg white.
Bake 40 minutes until golden.
