Chocolate Chip Brownies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. chopped pecans
    1/3 c. oleo or shortening, melted
    1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    1 egg, slightly beaten
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preparation
    Mix together flour, baking powder, soda, salt and nuts; set aside.
    Melt oleo or shortening in saucepan (if shortening is used add 1 tablespoon hot water).
    Remove from heat.
    Add brown sugar and mix well.
    Cool slightly.
    Add egg and vanilla; blend.
    Stir in flour mixture a little at a time mixing well after each addition.
    Spread in an 8 x 8-inch or 9 x 9-inch pan.
    Sprinkle with chocolate chips.
    Bake 20 to 25 minutes in a 350\u00b0 oven. Cool in pan and cut into bars.
