Simple Kosher Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 lb. cucumbers (about 4 to 6 inches long)
    3/4 c. sugar
    1/2 c. canning salt
    1 qt. vinegar
    1 qt. water
    3 Tbsp. pickling spices
Preparation
    Tie
    spices
    in
    a
    cheesecloth;
    in
    a large pot.
    Add liquids,
    salt,
    sugar and tied-up spices.\tMix and simmer for 15 minutes
    over
    medium
    heat.
    Cut cucumbers into quarters; pack into
    the
    jars (4 quart jars or 8 pint jars).
    Into each jar add 1 clove garlic, 1 to 2 pieces red pepper, 1/2 teaspoon mustard seed and 1 bay leaf.
    Fill each jar with liquid.
    Hot water

    minutes or just keep in refrigerator for crunchiness.
