Miracle Rolls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 pkg. active dry yeast
    1/2 c. warm water (110~ to 115~)
    5 c. flour (self-rising)
    1/4 c. sugar
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. Crisco shortening
    2 c. warm buttermilk (110~ to 115~)
Preparation
    Dissolve yeast in warm water; set aside.
    In a large mixing bowl, mix flour, sugar and baking soda.
    Cut Crisco in with a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal.
    Stir in yeast mixture and buttermilk; mix well.
    Turn out onto a floured surface; knead lightly a few times.
    Roll to a 1/2 inch thickness.
    Place on greased pans.
    Cover and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 10 minutes, or until brown.
    Makes 4 dozen rolls.
