Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 qt. sliced cucumbers
    3/4 c. salt
    1 bunch celery
    5 c. sugar
    1 qt. sliced onions
    water
    5 c. white sugar
    1 Tbsp. mustard seed
    1 Tbsp. celery seed
    1 Tbsp. turmeric
Preparation
    Cut cucumbers thin.
    Soak cucumbers and onions 3 hours in salt and water to cover.
    Drain well.
    Boil sugar, vinegar, spices and celery which has been cut in 2-inch pieces.
    Add cucumbers and onions.
    Let get hot, but don't boil.
    Seal in jars and turn upside-down.
