Date And Nut Loaf Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. dates, pitted and cut into small pieces
2 tsp. soda, sprinkled over dates
boiling water
2 c. sugar
2 1/2 Tbsp. butter
2 whole eggs
2 3/4 c. flour
1 lb. chopped walnuts, mixed nuts or fruit
Preparation
-
Pour boiling water over first two ingredients and let cool. Cream sugar and butter, then add egg, flour and nuts or fruit. Bake slowly at 350\u00b0 for one hour.
Makes two 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaves.
