Plain Sponge Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 egg yolks
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. sifted flour
    4 egg whites, beaten stiff
    1 c. sifted flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    a scant teacupful boiling water
    flavor
    salt
Preparation
    Beat the yolks of eggs with two cups of sugar.
    Stir in gradually 1 cup of sifted flour and the whites of 4 eggs, beaten stiff, then a cup of sifted flour in which two teaspoons of baking powder has been stirred and lastly, a scant teacupful of boiling water, stirred in a little at a time.
    Flavor and add salt. However thin the mixture may seem do not add any more flour.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes, then 375\u00b0 for 10 minutes.
