Fiesta Corn Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. hot sausage or lean ground beef
    1 c. chopped onion
    1/2 c. jalapeno peppers
    3 c. corn meal
    1 can creamed corn (17 oz.)
    1 tsp. sugar
    2 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. salad oil
    4 eggs
    2 c. milk
    8 slices American cheese
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    In large skillet, cook beef or sausage until broken up and browned.
    Drain off fat.
    Add onion and peppers; cook until tender.
    Set aside.
    In large bowl, combine remaining ingredients except cheese.
    Add meat mixture.
    Pour half the mixture into greased 9 x 16 x 3-inch pan.
    Cover with cheese slices.
    Pour remaining mixture over cheese.
    Bake for 1 hour or until lightly browned.
