Black Midnight Devil'S Food Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening or butter
1 1/4 c. sugar
2 large eggs
1/2 c. cocoa
1 c. hot coffee
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla

Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar together until creamy.
Beat the eggs and add to shortening/sugar.
Combine flour, salt, soda and baking powder and sift together.
Combine cocoa and hot coffee, blending until smooth.
Add to creamed mixture alternately with dry ingredients, mixing until well mixed, adding vanilla last. Bake in a greased and floured 8-inch square pan at 350\u00b0 for 45 to 55 minutes.
Frost with favorite frosting.
