Raisin Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. water
    2 c. raisins
    1 c. shortening
    1 3/4 c. sugar
    2 eggs, slightly beaten
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    3 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Combine raisins and water in a small saucepan; bring to boil and cook for 3 minutes.
    Remove from heat; cool.
    Do not drain. Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs and vanilla.
    Combine dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture.
    Mix.
    Stir in nuts and raisins.
    Drop by teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart on greased baking sheets.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 12 to 14 minutes.
    Easy to remove. Enjoy!
