Ring-A-Lings - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/4 c. lukewarm water
2 pkg. yeast
1/2 c. plus 4 Tbsp. sugar
1 c. plus 3 Tbsp. milk
1/2 c. plus 1/3 c. butter
2 eggs
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. grated orange rind
4 to 5 c. flour
2 c. powdered sugar
1 c. finely chopped pecans
juice from 1 orange
1/4 tsp. butter flavor
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Kolache dough:
Dissolve yeast and 1 tablespoon of sugar in lukewarm water.
Heat milk to 150\u00b0 to scald; remove from heat and add 1/2 cup butter to melt.
In bowl, beat eggs with salt, 1/2 cup sugar and orange (or lemon rind).
When milk is lukewarm (110\u00b0 to 120\u00b0), add to egg mixture and mix in yeast mixture.
Add enough flour to make soft dough, not sticky and not too stiff.
Let stand 15 minutes.
Stir with wooden spoon.
Repeat 2 more times at 15 minute intervals.
