Pickled Beets - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. vinegar
    3 c. sugar
    2 c. water
    1 Tbsp. cloves
    salt
    beets
Preparation
    Cook beets and slip off the skins.
    Mix ingredients for syrup altogether until sugar and salt are dissolved. Pour over beets. Pack in jars and seal.
    Yields about 10 pints.
