Applesauce Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. soft butter or shortening
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    3 eggs
    1 1/2 c. applesauce
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
    1 c. chopped dates or raisins
    2 c. flour
    2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Cream butter, sugar and eggs together until fluffy.
    Sift dry ingredients.
    Add dates and nuts.
    Add alternately with applesauce to the butter and sugar mixture.
    Mix thoroughly and turn into a well-buttered and floured tube pan.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for about 1 hour.
