Candied Apples - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. hot water
    4 or 5 apples
Preparation
    In heavy saucepan, over low heat, melt desired amount of candy coating, stirring frequently.
    With fork, dip pretzels, cherries with stems, large fresh strawberries or other fruit into warm candy coating*; let excess coating drip off.
    Place on aluminum foil or wax paper-lined baking sheet.
    Chill 30 minutes or until firm.
    Store covered in refrigerator.
