Corn Fritters - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. self rising flour
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 egg
    1/3 c. milk
    1 Tbsp melted shortening
    1 (12 oz.) can whole kernal corn (drained) or 1 2/3 c. fresh cut corn
    Shortening for frying
Preparation
    Sift flour. Measure and resift with sugar. Beat egg, add milk and shortening. Add flour mixture and beat until smooth. Fold in corn and let stand 5 to 10 minutes while you heat shortening for frying. Drop by tsp. into 360 degrees heated shortening.
