Italian Cream Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
5 eggs, separated
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. soda
1 c. buttermilk
1 c. flaked coconut
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped pecans
Preparation

Cream butter and shortening, add sugar and egg yolks, beat. Combine flour and soda, add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk.
Stir in coconut, vanilla and nuts.
Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
