Biscuits - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. Gold Medal self-rising flour
1/4 c. shortening
3/4 c. milk
Preparation

Heat oven to 450\u00b0.
Sift and measure flour.
Add shortening and cut in until like cornmeal.
Add milk all at once and stir with fork only until dough leaves sides of bowl.
Turn dough out onto lightly floured board.
Knead lightly 4 or 5 times.
Roll out dough about 1/2-inch thick.
Fold over in half and roll lightly again, about 1/2-inch thick.
Cut with floured cutter.
Place on baking sheet.
Bake 10 to 12 minutes until brown.
(Folding dough in half and cutting makes the biscuits \"pop\" open to insert sausage, ham, etc.)
