Taco Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 Tbsp. bacon fat or vegetable oil
    1 lb. ground beef
    3/4 c. chopped green onions
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1 (10 1/2 oz.) can condensed beef consomm
    1/2 c. Sauterne
    1 (12 oz.) can Mexican-style corn
    1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
    1 Tbsp. chili powder
    1/2 tsp. ground cumin
    4 drops hot pepper sauce
    salt
    3 tortillas, each torn in eighths
    3/4 c. sharp Cheddar cheese
    1 c. shredded lettuce
    1 large avocado, cut in thin slices
    1 medium tomato, cut in thin slices
Preparation
    Put bacon fat in skillet; add beef, 1/2 cup onions and the garlic and saut, breaking up meat with fork, until onions are limp. Add consomm and wine and bring to a boil. Simmer 1 minute, then add next 5 ingredients and mix well. Add salt to taste and pour into casserole baking dish (9 x 13). Poke tortilla pieces into meat mixture and bake, uncovered, in preheated oven, 350\u00b0, for about 25 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle with cheese. Then top with remaining green onion, lettuce, avocado and tomato. Serve at once. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
