Butterscotch Brickle Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1/2 c. soft butter or margarine
    3/4 c. brown sugar
    2 Tbsp. vegetable shortening
    1 Tbsp. water
    1/4 c. corn syrup
    6 to 10 oz. butterscotch bits
    2 c. chopped nuts (optional)
Preparation
    Mix flour, butter and brown sugar until crumbly. Press into the bottom of a greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 10 minutes.
