French Onion Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. butter
    8 c. thinly sliced onions
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    3 Tbsp. flour
    3 cans beef consomme
    4 cans water
    freshly ground pepper to taste
    French bread, sliced 1/2-inch thick and toasted
    Mozzarella cheese slices
Preparation
    Saute butter and onions until golden brown.
    Sprinkle flour over onions and stir until blended.
    Remove from heat.
    Pour consomme and water in pan and bring to a boil.
    Add onion mixture and reduce heat to low.
    Cover soup and simmer for 40 minutes. When serving, add piece of French bread to soup bowl and top with Mozzarella cheese.
    Bake or broil to melt cheese.
