Pecan Cake Fingers - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 egg whites
    1 lb. brown sugar
    2 c. cake flour, sifted
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking powder
    3 c. chopped pecans
    1 Tbsp. rum or vanilla
Preparation
    Beat egg whites (not
    too dry) and fold in brown sugar; a flat spoon-type beater
    is
    almost
    a must.
    Add flour, salt and baking powder mixed
    together
    as\tin
    an angel food cake. Save
    out
    1/2 cup
    of
    flour
    to\tdredge\tnuts.
    Add
    pecans, dredged, and flavoring.\tBake in a square or a tube pan, lined with
    heavy greased
    paper
    at 275\u00b0 for 45 minutes to 1 hour. Remove
    the paper while warm.
    You will be sure it won't work, but
    it\twill. Cut
    into
    fingers\twhen
    cooled.
    Ice
    with a confectioners sugar icing.
