Kosher Dill Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 lb. medium-size cucumbers
    4 Tbsp. dill seed
    3/4 tsp. instant minced garlic
    3 tsp. crushed red pepper
    6 thick onion slices
    1 1/4 qt. vinegar
    2 qt. water
    1/2 c. salt
Preparation
    Wash
    cucumbers
    and
    pack
    into 6 hot sterilized quart jars. To
    each
    jar
    add
    2 teaspoons dill seed, 1/8 teaspoon instant minced
    garlic,
    1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper and 1 slice onion.
    For
    a
    stronger garlic flavor, use 1/4 teaspoon instant minced garlic in each jar.
    Combine remaining ingredients and bring
    to
    a
    boil; pour boiling hot over cucumbers, leaving 1/4-inch head space.
    Seal at once.
    Makes 6 quarts.
