Potato Soup With Ham - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 cans chicken broth
    1 large onion, chopped
    3 carrots, chopped
    2 to 4 ham steaks, cut into small bites
    1 stick unsalted butter
    1/2 tsp. garlic powder
    1/2 to 1 tsp. pepper to taste
    1/2 tsp. parsley flakes
    5 lb. potatoes
    1/2 c. milk
Preparation
    In large cooking pot, add all ingredients, except potatoes and milk. Cook on low heat for about 1 hour, until tender. If chicken broth doesn't cover the vegetables, add water to cover tops of the vegetables. When tender, add potatoes and milk. Stir and simmer on low until potatoes are done. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
