Peppernuts(German Cookie) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. margarine
    2 c. brown sugar
    3 eggs
    4 c. dark corn syrup
    2 tsp. baking soda
    3 tsp. baking powder
    2 tsp. nutmeg
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. clove
    Flour
Preparation
    Mix baking soda in a little warm water.
    Mix baking powder in with flour and combine with baking soda.
    Add remaining ingredients with enough flour to make a stiff dough.
    When adding eggs, do so one at a time.
    Cover and refrigerate overnight.
    Roll out into rolls as big as your finger. Cut rolls in small pieces. Roll in the palms of your hands to make small balls, about 1 inch in size.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes. Yield: 1000 cookies.
