Orange Fruit Cake(Very Good) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. soda
    2/3 c. chopped nuts
    1 c. sugar
    2 c. cake flour
    2 Tbsp. grated orange rind
    1 c. dates
    2/3 c. buttermilk
Preparation
    Use 1/4 cup flour to roll dates (chopped) and nuts in.
    Cream the butter and sugar.
    Add eggs.
    Beat until fluffy.
    Add orange rind.
    Sift flour and soda together and add alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour.
    Fold in dates and nuts.
    Bake in tube pan at 300\u00b0 for 1 hour.
    Mix juice of 2 oranges and 2 tablespoons grated rind with 2/3 cup sugar.
    Dissolve.
    Pour over warm cake.
    Cool in pan.
