Fig Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 eggs
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. vegetable oil
    3/4 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. soda, dissolved in 2 tsp. hot water
    2 c. plain flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. allspice
    1 1/4 c. chopped nuts
    1 1/4 c. chopped fig preserves
Preparation
    Mix flour,
    salt,
    sugar
    and spices.
    Add oil and beat well. Then add eggs and buttermilk.
    Gradually add figs, nuts and the soda
    mixture.
    Pour into a greased flat pan and bake at 325\u00b0
    for 45 minutes.
    While cake is still hot, pour glaze over it.
